Subject: Amiga to PC Scenes
Sender: owner-lightwave@webcom.com
Precedence: bulk
Another question for those of you who have moved from Amiga to PC with
pre-release 4.0. I moved a scene over from my Amiga last nite to the PC. This
scene has a top hat sitting on a table on a stage with curtains behind. (A
magic show staging). On the Amiga I rendered out the stage, table and curtain
and saved as 24bit.iff. I would then load this image into LW and use as
background for the scene with the tophat, magicwand, etc. Works great and
saves time and memory (typical trick).
Problem: when I moved the scene to the PC and set the image up as background
and did a few test renders, the top hat know appears to be floating 6 inches
above the table rather than sitting on it as it does when rendered on the
Amiga. I double checked that all the settings in the Camera screen where the
same resolution, pixel aspect, etc.
Anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? (Besides re-rendering the
background on the PC)
Also, none the the Nulls that I had setup in the scene loaded? (And no the
tophat was not parented to a null, it's motion graph reads the same in the
Amiga and the PC)
BTW, for all those who answered my previous question on getting the render to
display, I finally got one by turning on the Show Rendering in Progress
button in the Options Panel. Still no options for Render Display in the
Record Panel though.
TIA
Robert <just trying to FLY-r> Coates
